Brenda K. Baillargeon, 39, a former teacher’s aide at Amery High School in Amery, Wisconsin has been arrested on 3 counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff and 2 counts of child enticement with sexual contact.
Baillareon is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old male student she was tutoring.
It is alleged that Baillargeon first had sexual intercourse with the victim at a lake cabin in May of this year. They also allegedly has sexual intercourse in August at the teen’s home while his mother was away and in September at Baillargeon’s home.
The mother of the alleged victim contacted authorities after her son confessed the activity to her November 13th.
Reportedly court documents indicate that Baillargeon and the boy had sex ten times and were engaged to be married after she received a divorce. And in spite of the boy’s mother obtaining a restraining order against Baillargeon in October, the alleged relationship continued.
Baillargeon also faces four counts of knowingly violating that restraining order.
Allegedly the boy’s mother discovered a phone bill with calls from Baillargeon and Baillargeon told authorities that she had received so many calls from the boy that she felt she needed to answer them and speak with him.
Reportedly Baillargeon resigned from the school system on September 27th.
12/28/07 - Court Appearance
Brenda Baillargeon made a court appearance today and entered a not guilty plea.
Baillargeon’s trial date has not yet been set.
3/29/08 - No Contest Plea
On Friday Brenda Baillargeon entered a no contest pleas to one count of sex assault of a student by school staff and one count of child enticement with sexual contact. In exchange for her no context plea three other felony charges were dismissed.
Baillargeon faces up to 31 years in prison at sentencing which will occur after after completion of a pre-sentencing investigation.
07/11/08 - Sentencing
Brenda Baillargeon has been sentenced to one year in jail, she must register as a sexual offender and will be required to pay restitution to the victim and his family.
Baillargeon was also sentenced to 15 years probation during which time she is banished from her hometown. The judge indicated that the banishment was because she repeatedly violated past restraining orders by contacting the boy at his home, work and elsewhere. The judge told Baillargeon that she was prohibited from having any contact what-so-ever with the victim, now 17-year-old, for the entire span of her 15-year-probation.
Any failure to adhere to the no-contact provision of her probation will subject Baillargeon to state prison for five years.
Baillargeon will be placed on “work release” during the term of her jail sentence allowing her to work outside the jail for up to 50 hours per-week.

wow. thats all i can say. i am friends with her youngest daughter and she had to miss a whole week of school cuz of this. and the boy that the teacher “fell in love with” is also in my grade. and i am friends with the boy’s sister. so i know both sides of the story and i am just glad she is out of town. or at least supposed to be…i feel so bad for her children.

A minimum of 25 years is the only acceptable sentence for having sex with a minor.

I do know her and her family and this is just sick sick sick. You can help who you fall in love with. You don’t fall in love with a freaking 16 yr old when you’re forty. If you do you are a SEX OFFENDER. She deserves to be banished from the community.

This woman is in desperate need of professional help. I hope that is a requirement of her probation. Mentally healthy, 39 year old women do NOT “fall in love” with 16 year old boys. Period. I feel sick for the pain this must cause her daughter. Imagine having a “mother” that behaves in this manner. To say it would be embarassing is being kind.

Brenda is probably one of the nicest women I’ve ever met. Yes she has a child the same age as (Name deleted by site admin)! So what? You can’t help who you fall in love with!! I think people honestly need to grow up and move on with your own life! And I think you should maybe get all the facts about her family before you come on here and say, ” I can’t believe she tore her family apart.” You don’t know her or her family. It’s said the father was having an affair too! Do we all believe EVERYTHING we read! Please people, open your eyes, take a good damn look in the mirror, ’cause you too, are NOT perfect!! Love has a way, and I hope she gets the smallest sentence possible!

Another case in a long line of cases of pathetic women. I really feel sorry for her children. Especially her daughter. How could you respect your mom when she is sleeping with someone your own age and in they are in your class. How sad for her. I think she should do at least a couple of yrs in jail and have to register as a sex offender. But how stupid is she to think that it would actually last with a 16 yr. Sorry to burst her bubble, but when he gets a little older, he’s going to be looking for something fresher and newer. That’s just the way it is.

… I know one of the daughters as well, and it has been SO hard on their family. I can’t EVER imagine having to deal with this happening to my mom… So, sad.

She is a hypocrite. A terrible woman. Too bad she had to put her CHILDREN through this…not to mention that her daughter is the same age as the student she was involved with.

O no this is outragous we need to start controlling the school system insted of them control us!!!!! We need to keep stupid people out of our school systems!!!! and she not a nice lady, how can you think that she could be when she is now a sexual predator!!!! She is a horrible mother also how do you think her children feel!!!! This is sickening to hear about!!! the woman has no respect for a child to think that she could get away with doing such a horrible crime!! Well she can’t not as long as shes in the USA!!!! Just glad she wasn’t my teacher!!!

sad. another nice lady makes a terrible mistake. i feel horrible for her and her family.
