Brandon Rousey, 23, an assistant coach and teacher’s aide at Madison Middle School in Richmond, Kentucky has been arrested on allegations that he sent text messages to a 13-year-old girl, allegedly trying to coerce her into sexual activity.
Rousey was employed by Eastern Kentucky University through the AmeriCorps job placement program and had been working as a teachers aide and assistant volleyball coach at the middle school for about a year.
Rousey came to the attention of authorities by way of complaints from parents who said a school employee was sending sexually suggestive text messages to their daughters.
It is alleged that Rousey sent text messages to several 13- and 14-year-old girls.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson indicates that their investigation “has proved elicit materials on one thus far and that insinuations have been made to others.”
The Sheriff’s Department indicates that there is no evidence that there was any sexual contact between Rousey and the alleged victim.
Following his arrest, Rousey was being held in the Madison County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond with arraignment set for Wednesday.
