Posted by Webmaster in Church Schools, Coaches, High Schools, ME-MV, New JerseyBartholomew McInerney, 41, a baseball coach at St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey has been arrested on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

It is alleged that McInerney had at least one and possibly two of his players perform sex acts which were recorded on video and allegedly for McInerney’s personal viewing.
Allegedly one of the victims was paid in cash over a period of several months by McInerney.
It is also alleged that McInerney provided the boys with condoms, engaged in sexually oriented text messaging with the boys and encouraged them to masturbate.
Following his arrest McInerney was released on $75,000 bail, ordered to stay away from the school, to have no contact with the two boys or anyone under 18.
01/31/09 – Defense Attorney Wants Trial Moved
The defense attorney for Bart McInerney is seeking to have the case moved out of Monmouth County, citing widespread publicity and a “circus-like and dangerous atmosphere” during the man’s arraignment late last year.
The motion for a change of venue claims that McInerney cannot receive a fair trial given the profusion of reports in newspapers, on the radio and on the internet.
Another defense motion asks the judge to dismiss the indictment against McInerney on the basis that his alleged actions don’t fall within the legal parameters of the crime with which he’s charged.
06/17/09 – McInerney Headed To Trial
Bartholomew McInerney will proceed to trial in January after rejecting any and all potential plea agreements that would have called for him to serve jail time.
McInerney could face up to 120 years in prison if convicted of all charges in a 12-count indictment.

If given the whole enchilada of 150 years, he’ll be 192 when he gets out. That’s downright insane. For the sake of humanity, I say cut that sentence in half. By then I’m sure that Bartholomew will have learned his lesson and becomes rehabilitated!
yeah have you case moved-does not mean its going to be different. and a different end result. it is what it is.
