Anthony Kent Holcombe, 43, a former teacher and coach at Jonesborough Middle School in Jonesborough, Tennessee has been indicted by a federal grand jury on child pornography charges.
The Greenville Sun reports that the three-count indictment alleges that between Feb. 20, 2007, and Feb. 5, 2009, Holcombe distributed child pornography, received child pornography and possessed a computer containing an image of child pornography.
It is alleged that Holcombe’s computer contained over 12,000 images, as well as videos, including bestiality.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Dennis Inman denied bond for Holcombe. The judge indicated that the sheer volume of child pornography involved and the fact Holcombe was a middle school teacher during the time he aggregated his pornography collection precluded bond.
The judge was quoted as saying, “Therefore, I find that there is no condition or combination of conditions which will reasonably assure the appearance of the defendant as required in this proceeding”.
A trial date for Holcombe has been set for June 25 in United States District Court in Greeneville.
Holcombe resigned his position at Jonesborough Middle School and will be detained in federal custody until his trial in U.S. District Court in Greeneville, TN.

He was really wierd when I had him in 6th grade. He as really fasinated with his niece. I always saw him with his arms around her or taking pictures of her.
I lived next door to Kent when he was 7 and I was 6. He was a spoiled bully and pretty much a jerk. I later ran into him as a teenager….he had not changed. I am surprised he made it as a teacher. I am not surprised of his current predicament. Sooner or later…people get what they deserve. I am sure he will get what he deserves in “general population”.
Wow, okay, so I had Mr. Holcombe years ago…I always told my mother that he would end up in the paper for some kind of teacher student scandle! I never thought it would be on child porn! We saw this coming as a child when we would be in Viedo magic and there he was coming out of the adult section! So when I drive but the jail I chuckle a little laugh and si hi!

Anthony Kent Holcombe was my fifth grade teacher a few years ago. I knew that their was something odd about him but i could’nt make it out but i finally know. He had teken a picture of my girlfriend and i and said that he was going to put it on his bulliton board and he never did! SO ! I am now at a different school and i am so glad!
this guy was my last year teacher in reading and i never though he would do such a thing he was like my favorite teacher,,until i heard about this,,he never used to act like this whenever he was around me and my classmates now i am ashamed for our school labeled as jonesborough middle school because of what he did

Knew this guy whenever I went to school at JMS. He always came across as a little weird, especially with the 5th and 6th grade girls, and I was in 6th grade and could tell this. Now, in college, my girlfriend called me to tell me he had been arrested, first thought in my mind was “Wow, some kind of rape or porn charge.” And look where he is. Wow, people like this need to grow up and be real HUMAN BEINGS.
