Angel Simmons Lindle, 37, a seventh-grade science teacher at Edgewood Middle School in Ninety Six, South Carolina has been arrested on allegations that she was having sex with a 15-year-old boy who is a former student.
Reportedly Lindle is being held on seven counts of second-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a minor.
It is alleged that the sexual activity occurred numerous times in Greenwood County with at least one incident occurring in an adjoining county.
Reportedly Lindle has been on medical leave from the school for several months and has now been suspended.
Lindle is scheduled to have a bond hearing at 8:30 Saturday morning in Greenwood.
02/23/08 – Case Update
Greenwood Today reports that Angela Lindle allegedly admitted seven sexual encounters she’s had with a former student who reported the incidences to police.
It is further reported that Lindle’s bond was set in the amount of $126,000 cash or surety bond and that Lindle is still being held in the Greenwood County Detention Center in lieu of bond.

03/03/09 – Bond Reduced
On Tuesday, a judge reduced Lindle’s bond amount from $126,000 to $75,000.
If Lindle makes she would also have to wear an electronic monitoring device and and is prohibited from having any contact with the alleged victim.
03/11/09 – Lindle Released On Bond
Reportedly, Angel Simmons Lindle has posted bond and been released from the Greenwood County Detention Center.
Lindle has been suspended by the school district pending the outcome of the charges against her.
03/21/09 – Angel Lindel Found Dead
Angel Simmons Lindle was found dead today from an apparent self-inflicted single gunshot wound.
Reportedly, law enforcement officials at the scene Saturday indicated that there was a “99 percent” chance that Lindle’s death was a suicide, although the sheriiff’s office was not prepared to officially classify the death as a suicide this afternoon.

All circunstances pointed this woman was a real sick individual. It was imprudent to realise her from the Detention Center without a close and proffesional vigilance.

I just read your comment and have to ask myself, did her husband leave her because in the middle of this mess he found out about the affair she had back in July of 2008 while she was at a teaching seminar in Greenville at Roper Mountain (with my husband) and let me tell you this woman terrorized me for months after I found out, the constant emails, text messages and lies (she denied the fact that she was married), when you ask a person to leave you alone and they don’t it says something about that person.. The KID who came forward should have no remorse for her death, perhaps she should have never been released or better yet she as a adult should have known better than to approach someone that age and commit the crimes that she commited( remember she admitted to seven encounters).. The KID did tell the authorities that she had told him that she would kill herself if he broke off the relationship.. Well Well I guess the kid was telling the truth. What a sad sad ending for a lot of people involved….
The one thing that some of you don’t realize is that Angel was a daughter, a sister, a wife and a really good friend. She was also a teacher. I will always wish that she had only waited… But the circumstances of this is much deeper than most know. Her husband had left her and her dog had died. She was looking at being guilty of a crime she committed or not in the court of public opinon. Who knows what we would have done in the same situation?!?!?! I just hope that the “boy” that made these alligations, (Deleted by site moderator) will forever be plagued that he helped cause the death of a great woman. Shame on anyone who knows the truth and keeps silent.

Sad to hear about this ending in a suicide. Makes me wonder that there may be some truth to the story and she would rather end her life then spending ten or more years in prison. I think if she was innocent she would have wanted her day in court and have faith that the justice system would work.
when i heard the news about mrs lindle i broke in two my heart sank its so sad bout this tragedy all because of this mess with the boy its stupied mrs lindle was my favorite teacher and now shes gone i miss you mrs lindle RIP you will always be in my heart!!

I’m family of angle’s and i wanted to say a few things… Wat she did was wrong and it takes two.. even if he was fourteen, he knew as well as she did it was wrong. but they done it anyway, now both families are payin the prise for it… their is no happy endin in the end to this sad story… Angle we love you and are going to miss you dearly, love always your lovin family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you criticize the ‘tattletale’ and not the teacher? It takes two, both were wrong. Human beings who don’t learn from the mistakes of others are truly stupid. Wrong is wrong and both of them were very wrong, to the point where a life is now gone. Epitome of STUPID.
Kim Kyoung Suk, this is a sick and demented thing to post. The woman in this article is wrong and I’d be VERY upset if a teacher involved himself or herself with my child. Adults, particularly people in positions of trust and are entrusted with the welfare of minors, should be of the highest integrity. I know that teenage boys don’t think about the consequences of such behavior, but they really should learn a little self control, as should the teachers.
Well whether you felt she was innocent or guilty the point is now moot because Ms. Angela Simmons Lindle was found dead as a result of suicide today. R.I.P. Ms. Lindle
