(09/10/08 - Initial BBT Report)
Andrew John Humphreys, 27, a former teacher at Umpqua Valley Christian School in Roseburg, Oregon and a former coach at Oakland High School in Oakland, Oregon has been sentenced to serve five days of work crew, pay a $500 fee and register as a sex offender for having sex with a 17-year-old girl.
In July Humphreys pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.
In exchange for that guilty plea, charges of sexual misconduct and physical harassment were dismissed.
Reportedly Humphreys met the girl through a church youth group for which he was a leader.
Humphreys came to the attention of authorities when he resigned his post as assistant coach at Oakland High School and disclosed the situation to school administrators who are required by law to make a report.

The allegations were shrugged off and the parents never interviewed. The school district as well as the church simply IGNORED the complaints. The youth was a member of his youth group at another Church of Christ. As a teacher, he had no business involved in any after hours relationship with a student. Text records state that his relationship was VERY inappropriate.
It is just a coincidence that he “just happenned” to get himself caught up in an identical situation a few counties away.
Humphreys is a child predator, got off very easy. He should have served some time. At least he will not be around children and young girls anymore.

Nothing came of the complaint ,in that case 3 years ago, because the allegations were proven false! He moved back to his hometown to be closer to his family.

3 years ago, complaints were filed against Humphreys by parents to a Creswell, Oregon church (where he was a youth pastor) and the Creswell School District, where he was a student teacher. The allegation was shrugged off by both the church and the school district. He moves to another county and repeats himself, again with a 16/17 year old girl (victim).
