Andrew Belant

Andrew Belant, 25, a teacher’s aide at Jacoby Creek Elementary School and as a middle school ministry director for the Eureka First Presbyterian Church in Humboldt County, California accused of molesting four boys has received a preliminary hearing in Humboldt County Superior Court.

Belant pleaded not guilty to 20 charges alleging the molestation offour boys, ages 9 to 13, during the period from January 2007 to March 2008.

Bewlant met the alleged victims while working at a Eureka church and in afterschool programs.

Belant remains in the Humboldt County jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.

    Andrew Belant was sentenced on July 9 to 89 years in jail. (San Jose Mercury News, 7/9/09)
