Anastasia Pappas

Anastasia Pappas, 40, a former teacher at Blackhawk Middle School in Glendale Heights, Illinois has been charged with having sex with a 15-year-old boy who was previously Pappas student in the fifth-grade.

The sex allegations involve act alleged to have occurred during 2005 to 2006, when Pappas was reportedly living with the boy’s family.

Pappas, 40, is charged with criminal sexual assault. She is free on bail. Pappas was charged in 2006, but the indictment against her remained sealed by DuPage County prosecutors until this week.

She has since been removed from teaching duties. School officials couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday.

05/07/08 - Plea and Sentencing

A judge today approved a plea deal under which Anastasia Pappas pleaded guilty to felony criminal sexual assault.

Pappas, now 41, was sentenced to five years in prison and must register as a sex offender when she leaves prison.

She must serve 85 percent of the prison term before being eligible for parole.

    Well she’s a very sick woman Mandi. So what is the status on her case? Any news on whether she took a plea deal?

    I can’t believe this… she was my 6th grade teacher… Makes you wonder how long this sort of thing was going on or through her head…
