Amos Duque, 24, a classical guitar and piano teacher at the Allegro Vivace Music School in Queens, and at the Manhattan Harbor Conservatory in Manhattan has been charged with five counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, five counts of possessing a sexual performance of a child, one count of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
It is alleged that Duque gave his cell phone to an 11-year-old male student on December 20, 2008 and persuaded the boy to go into the restroom and take pictures and make a video of his penis.
If is further alleged that Duque later persuaded the boy to allow him to see and touch his penis.
Duque is also alleged to have referred the boy to pornographic Web sites on the Internet.
Duque came to the attention of authorities after the victim revealed what had allegedly happened to a close family friend.
06/03/09 – Sentencing
Amos Duque, who pleaded guilty in April to a count of possessing a sexual performance by a child, has been sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years probation.
Duque was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
