Alyson Perri-Jarvis, a third-grade teacher at Southern Oaks Elementary School in Largo, Florida has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a neighborhood teenager.
Perri-Jarvis has been charged with one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
It is alleged that Perri-Jarvis and the teen met in 2005 when the boy was 15-years-old.
Police say that Perri-Jarvis and the boy started a sexual relationship in July 2006 and that the relationship existed until August of this year.
Reportedly Perri-Jarvis came to the attention of police when the alleged victim filed a report against Perri-Jarvis on Friday.
Following her arrest Perri-Jarvis was being held in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
A school spokesperson indicated that while she is in jail Perri-Jarvis is suspended without pay. The spokesperson further indicated that if she makes bail that she will then be suspended with pay pending the outcome of the school district’s own investigation.

this is retarded. I cant believe the age of consent here is 18. If she had done this in georgia or alabama where the age of consent is 16, the dumb kid would have no case.

I find this hilarious, because I was 8 years old, and she was a great teacher, but to hear this when I’m 14 is just shockingly funny.
I didn’t read anywhere that she confessed or pleaded guilty, therefour, she’s not guilty until proven guilty by a court of law or confesses. Unless she confessed, arresting her was the wrong thing to do – it ruins lives. There should be more than a student’s statement to justify her arrest.
If something did happen between them, don’t look at it as teacher and student, look at it as male and female. Men and women are different and in a case when it’s a female teacher and male student, it’s usually the male student that goes after the female teacher. When it’s a male teacher and female student, it’s usually the male teacher going after the female student.
In most cases involving males and females, the female is usually the real victim no matter who’s the teacher and who’s the student. It’s biology – males make moves on females. Laws of nature will usually over ride and mask the laws of society.
Some people make some really wrong choices. GOD will judge.
According to the first article there is nothing, no evident, just some kid making a charge. Any body can say any thing about any one, but there has to be evident of guilt, without it, the case is nothing more than character assassination.
I am not saying the kid is lying, but without proof there is nothing. It is another case of coppers doing a poor job; acting before thinking.
What a sick and evil woman. I understand she has 3 children of her own. How would you like to be her husband just finding out about this? About 20 years in the slam would be about right.
