Alexis Anderson, 24, a former teacher at Neptune Middle School in Neptune, New Jersey has been indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury on charges of child endangerment.
Anderson is accused of having sexually explicit telephone conversations with one of her eighth-grade science students.
The conversations between Anderson and the 14-year-old student are alleged to have taken place between January and July 2007.
There has been no allegations of sexual contact between Anderson and the student.
In the wake of her indictment, Anderson turned herself in and was subsequently released on her own recognizance.
If convicted Anderson faces up to 10 years in state prison.
Anderson has resigned from the school system.

its a shame i had her when i was in 7th grade the year it supposedly happened. She was a great teacher and we learned allot from her. She was probably one of my favorite teachers in the school too. Oh well she made a mistake unfortunately a really bad one. p.s. I agree , 10 years for a phone call? I know who the boy was and today hes walking around like nothing ever happened thats not fare.
I go to Neptune High but I hear this happened last year. It took this long for her to get charged. But its stupid. 10 years for phone calls?
Sounds like another Loser in a long line of Loser teachers. I guess she couldn’t call up a man and talk dirty to him. Hse had to pick a kid. And she will get a slap on the wrist like all the other female teachers before her.
