Adam C. Benedict, 29, a cross-country and basketball coach in the Litchfield, Connecticut school system has been arrested on allegations of fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree harassment of former students.
Reportedly, Benedict is also charged with interfering with an officer for refusing to answer the door when police arrived and identified themselves.
Benedict who reportedly is a cross-country and basketball coach at the middle school level, also helped coach the high school track team.
Following his Friday night arrest Benedict was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned this morning.
Benedict denies any improper conduct saying, “I am not guilty” and “at the time I wasn’t even working at the school. I was student teaching in another district. I don’t know where they’re getting that I was a teacher”.
Allegedly one alleged victim told investigators that Benedict took her back to his house where they went to Benedict’s bedroom and Benedict began kissing her and touched her breasts.
The second alleged victim says that she went to Benedict’s house and that the sexual contact consisted of the coach grabbing her breasts.
The sexual assaults are alleged to have occurred in January and April of this year in the bedroom of Benedict’s home, which he shares with his mother.
The alleged victims were high school seniors.
The harassment charges arises from allegations that Benedict threatened and/or harassed both of the girls via cellphone text messages.
Benedict, as conditions of bond, has been ordered to avoid the alleged victims, witnesses, Litchfield High School and any high school students.

This guys case is awaiting trial it wasnt dropped, it was just in the newspaper. If you guys have any information about him doing this kind of thing before you should call the prosecutors office.Especially lala with your friend. It would really help there case and it sounds like if hes done it before he will do it again.

Case was dropped due to lack of coorperation from the girls accusing him.

Where is the follow up to this case - there’s no way he was found innocent - I went to school with him and have kept in moderate touch with him since high school and anyone who knows him knows he’s guilty! So where’s the follow up? I’d really like to know!?!?!?!?

ha. when i was a sophomore (in 2001) this guy was hooking up with a girl in my class. not surprised he’s still doing it!
