(2/25/08 – Initial BBT Report)
Abbie Jane Swogger, 34, a teacher’s aide at Highlands Senior High School in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania was detained and questioned by police and formal charges are pending on allegations of her renting a hotel room where the police found beer, marijuana, an open condom wrapper and at least four teenage girls and boys, including several of her 15-year-old son’s friends.
Swogger has denied rumors that have been circulating through the high school that she was having sex with her son’s friends.
KDKA and others are reporting that Swogger has resigned from the school system.
Swogger, a one-time exotic dancer, worked for the school system since September providing one-on-one personal-needs assistance for a disabled student.
Reportedly drug and corruption of minors charges are likely pending against Swogger.
Webmaster’s Note: This is an extremely complex case in it’s earliest stages. We will try to follow this case as it plays out. At this stage of things Abbie Jane Swogger is simply a suspect in alleged criminal activity and the investigation continues.
2/26/08 – Charges Filed
Abbiejane Swogger was today charged with felony possession of crack cocaine and corruption of minors.
Swogger maintains her claim of innocence, denying all accusations.
2/27/08 – Arrest Details
Reportedly when police showed up at Swogger’s residence to arrest her she refused to let them in until police threatened to break down the door.
When police entered the Swogger residence they found a 17-year-old boy hiding in her bedroom. The boy is not related to Swogger and was found at the motel room earlier.
Following her arrest bond for Swogger was set at $25,000 with 10% required and she was released from jail after posting $2,500
bail.
The Valley News Dispatch reports that Swogger’s personnel file lacks state-mandated clearances required of all school employees and that Swogger had been under investigation regarding a relationship between Swogger and a 17-year-old boy and photographs of Swogger involved in inappropriate behavior that were being circulated throughout the high school.
2/27/08 – Swogger Arrested Again
Swogger is in the Westmoreland County Jail with a bail hearing set for March 6th.
This after she allegedly violated the terms of her bail bond which required her to remain in her residence. Reportedly a caller notified police who found her at a friend’s house and took her into custody.
Again…
Meanwhile, the school district is offering counseling to students and asking that students with nude pictures of Swogger destroy them.
2/28/08 – Court Hearing Details
A 15-year-old female testified that she telephoned Swogger on Tuesday evening. She told the court that she wanted to talk about the 17-year-old boy. The witness testified that the 17-year-old boy is the father of her 2-month-old son.
The teen further testified that Swogger offered her and another girl $40 to beat up a girl that might have made public a cell phone photo of a nude Swogger being caressed by several boys and men at a party.
As an outgrowth of the nude pictures allegedly depicting Swogger and young boys in inappropriate contact police are now considering whether Swogger will face additional criminal charges allegedly involving boys as young as 14.
3/27/08 – Additional charges Filed
New charges have been filed against Swogger.
Police now say that lured two teenage girls to her Clarion Hotel room in the hopes of getting them drunk and high and then wanted them to have sex with her.
04/24/08 – Even More Charges Filed Against Swogger
Abbie Jane Swogger has been charged with 33 additional counts.
The latest round of charges includes allegations that Swogger performed a sex act on a 16-year-old boy at his house three weeks prior to the hotel party, that she stripped for men and boys at the home of a 15-year-old boy in January and that Swogger allowed the men and boys to touch her inappropriately.
Swogger has a preliminary hearing set for May 1st and she remains in the Westmoreland County jail.
05/01/08 – Court Hearing
Swogger was arraigned this week on the 33 counts. The court has ruled that her cases will all be heard in Allegheny County.
Swogger’s efforts to get her bail reduced were denied.
She remains jailed on a bail totaling $150,000.
A preliminary hearing on all of the charges is set for May 15.
05/15/08 – Preliminary Hearing
Abbie Jane Swogger has been ordered to stand trial on 39 charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors and possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine.
While being taken back to jail following the preliminary hearing Swogger spoke of the boys at the alleged hotel party saying, “They’re lying to save their own butts from getting in trouble for the things that they’ve done.” When asked by reporters to explain Swogger replied with “No comment”.
Swogger remains jailed in lieu of on $150,000 bond.
05/26/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Abbie Jane Swogger has reportedly pleaded guilty to almost a dozen charges, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a minor. The plea deal came on the day that Swogger’s trial was set to begin.
WPXI TV reports that Swogger pleaded guilty on 11 counts and that seventeen other counts against her were withdrawn as part of the plea deal.
As a result of her guilty plea, Swogger was sentenced to prison for a term of from 3 to 6 years to be followed by 36 years probation.
Swogger will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

WOW! This story is like something out of a porno. Here you have a bi-sexual stripper turned teaching assistant hooking up with high school students for sex parties and booze and drug fueled orgies. Sometimes fact really is stranger than fiction. You couldn’t make up stuff this juicy!
It was pretty funny how everyone in town seemed to be holding her as the sole person responsible for everything that happened. I mean those guys were more than happy to be shown groping her in those naked pictures. They loved the sex and the drugs that she provided them. The students at the school didn’t seemed fazed either, even though raunchy pictures of Abbie and said teenagers were e-mailed to half the school. One of the kids she was having relations with was found in her bedroom the morning of her arrest. Overall even though she is the main culprit being the adult, those kids that ratted on her to the authorites only did it to save their butts, like she stated in an earlier statement.
I’m not saying she shouldn’t be punished by any means, of course she should. I just think the jail time is a little bit excessive. If you really want to put the blame on someone, what about the high school that hired her without any background checks. It seems that the people who put her in that position should of known of her pole dancing past to begin with. That would have saved everyone the grief of what happened in the end.
The only people that I see as truly being victims here is her kids. Especially the high school aged son that went to the school that she worked at. One could only imagine the taunts and ridicule he must have received from his classmates. That is something that would probably take years of therapy to get over. If I were him I would move far away and not look back.

her son was such a nice boy. he was smart and kind, shy. everyone kept teasing him about it so he had to switch schools. thankfully, they didnt have the same last name.
the teens involved were NOT her sons friends. her son was friends with the soccer players, smart kid. the teens involved were honestly trailer trash/druggies/dropouts/”gangsters” the boys that were with her were dirty, trouble, scum. theyve all dropped out now. one was 17 in 9th grade [typically your 14 then] they’re all disgusting low-lives.

Yet she only gets 3-6 years for 39 counts. I wonder how much one woman could do in order to see some serious 10-20 years. Ive seen other post where it appears to be a one time thing yet they did get hard time (even with a plea)

i cant seem to feel sorry for this woman. she seemed to continue living as a teen runaway all her adult life
if she wanted to make an a** of her life…at least do it only around adults
I agree with Bernadette, these kids DID want what they got from her. If they didn’t want to go, i’m sure they could get away from one 100 pound woman. Now they are pushing the envelope to get her as much time as possible just to later brag about being with her. They should be charged as well for DOING the illegal drugs and underage drinking. If anything, she should be charged with providing drugs and alcahol. Besides, its her first real crime and she has two teenage kids that need her.

A lot of these cases are reported but the news media drops off and does not tell us what the outcomes of the trials were!
i kind of feel sorry for her she will probably get a movie out of this and lots of money but never peace of mind. she will have to go to jail for something the 16 and 17 old children wanted to happen and do not think that the girls are telling the truth about her

Sorry, I didn’t realize that she has 2 teenage sons. How must they be feeling right now. Hearing the stories of their mom doing all those things and putting on video. I hope that they will get the help they need to get pass this or at least be in a place where they can deal with it.
