Aaron Daniel Pompa, 25, an assistant band director at Keller High School, in Keller, Texas has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student.

It is alleged that Pompa had sexual contact with her three separate times between April and August and that the incidents occurred in Pompa’s home.
Following his arrest Pompa was released on $10,000 bond. (We previously stated it was a $20,000 bond - our mistake)
He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
Reportedly the alleged sexual contact took place in Pompa’s home, with the last such contact allegedly occurring on August 11th.
Reportedly, Pompa who had worked for the school for two years resigned on August 13th.
Update 8/29/07:
Reportedly, when Pompa resigned on August 13th, he told Keller school district’s assistant superintendent of human resources that he had to resign because of an “impropriety” with a student, saying there had been sexual activity during the girls visits to his home.
On August 22, police seized green sofa cushions and a box containing six condoms from Pompa’s home.
10/28/08 - Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Aaron Daniel Pompa, who pleaded guilty on October 20th to a felony charge of sexual assault of a child under 17 years old was sentenced today to 10 years of probation.

Its a shame. He was a great guy too. I was wondering if this will keep up with the case through the trial and the results? Also, how long dose that normally take?

Pompa was actually released on $10,000 bond, not $20,000.
