Naomi Wright, 30, a biology and music teacher at the Virtual Schoolhouse Charter School in Cleveland, Ohio has reportedly been indicted on allegations of having sexual relations with a 17- year-old male student who suffers from mental illness.

Wright was indicted Friday on multiple counts of sexual battery and corrupting another with drugs, specifically marijuana.

According to Maureen Clancy, Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor, Wright even convinced the boy’s parents to let him stay with her, claiming it would help with his progress.

Reportedly, Wright is is currently suspended without pay from the school.

Dennis Joseph Jasso, 34, a former assistant band director at Sam Houston High School in San Antonio, Texas has been indicted by a federal grand jury on two counts of distributing child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office indicates that when the FBI agents searched Jasso’s home in December 2007 they seized his computer and a subsequent examining of that computer revealed approximately 27,000 images of alleged child pornography and approximately 1,000 video clips of of alleged child pornography.

Jasso is alleged to have what authorities are calling “the largest stash of child pornography ever seen in San Antonio”.

A spokesperson for the San Antonio School District says that Jasso taught at Sam Houston from August 2006 through May 2007. The school spokesperson indicates that school administrators do not believe that Jasso victimized any students.

Reportedly Jasso has not been working as a teacher since the end of the last school year and has been selling real estate and working part time at a Target store.

In conjunction with his indictment, FBI agents took Jasso into custody on Friday and a federal judge ruled that Jasso remain jailed until a bail hearing Wednesday.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Antonio, upon conviction, Jasso faces between 5 and 20 years in federal prison on each distribution
charge and up to 20 years in federal prison on the possession charge.

11/20/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing

In February, Dennis Jasso pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop a second count of distributing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Dennis Jasso has now been sentenced to eight years and four months in federal prison.

In addition, once released from prison, Jasso will be under 50 years of supervised release and have to register as a sex offender.

(Malaysia) A 47-year-old teacher has been arrested for performing oral sex on a Year Two schoolgirl in Sungai Bakap here. (Sweden) A male high school teacher in Skövde, western Sweden, has been arrested and charged with a string of sexual offences including child rape. The 41-year-old was led by police out of Helena school on Tuesday and was remanded in custody on Friday by Skaraborg district court. Link

(China) Chung Wing-kwok, 32, a Hong Kong teacher has been charged with having sex with a 13-year-old primary school pupil and keeping pictures of the encounters on his computer. Link

(U.S.) It’s been three years since former history teacher Danielle Walls pleaded guilty to four felony counts of having sex with one of her male students at Clairemont High School. Walls was 26 and the boy was 16. Walls served six and a half months in jail as part of her plea bargain. Now, she’s asking a judge to throw out those felonies. Link

(Australia) Michelle Lynn Dennis, 33, a music teacher who had sex with two students sobbed today as she was sentenced to more than four years jail. Dennis pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual penetration of a child under her care, supervision or authority and one count of sexual penetration of a child under 16. Link
