(U.S. - Colorado) The Catholic Diocese of Pueblo, Colo., and the Marianist religious order have agreed to pay $4 million to settle the claims of 23 men who said they were sexually abused by former Brother William Mueller Roncalli High School between 1966 and 1971. Link

(Malaysia) Mohd Harith Mohd Nor, 40, a teacher of 18 years faces up to five years in jail and whipping, if convicted of sexually abusing two of his students by encouraging them to perform unnatural sex acts. Link

(Australia) Amanda Louise Thompson, 28, who is accused of pursuing an illegal relationship with a student while she was a teacher at a school south of Brisbane is currently on trial. She has pleaded not guilty to one count of maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child between April 2003 and 2005. It’s alleged the relationship started when the girl was just 14 years old. (Canada) Christopher McLister, 37, a teacher with the Lambton Kent District school board, was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault after allegations of a sexual relationship with a female high school student, police say. Link

(U.S. - California) Helix High School officials are calling for the resignation of a Grossmont Union High School District board member who recently accused Helix of covering up teacher-student sex scandals, it was reported Friday. But the board member says he won’t budge. Link

(Israel) The teacher accused of having sex with one of her students was released by the Rishon Lezion Magistrate court on Friday and placed under a six-day house arrest. The teacher denied the allegations against her, and claimed that one of her female students fabricated the whole story. Link

Robert DiLullo, 24, a substitute teacher at Ocean City High School in Ocean City, New Jersey has been arrested on charges alleging he had sex with a 16-year-old female student.

Police allege that DiLullo had sex with the girl both at his residence and at the school.

It is further alleged that DiLullo gave the girl alcohol and that once at his house he had sex with her while she was drunk and unconscious.

The alleged victim has told police that her relationship with the teacher started in December and that they engaged in sexual acts inside empty classrooms at Ocean City High School.

Following his arrest DiLullo was reportedly released on $100,000 bond.

08/15/08 - Guilty Plea

Robert DiLullo pleaded guilty this afternoon to a single count of endangering the welfare of a child.

As part of his plea deal with prosecutors DiLullo will be sentenced on Oct. 31 to 364 days in the Cape May County jail to be followed by five years of probation.

In court DiLullo admitted that gave a female student alcohol on multiple occasions and engaged in oral sex with her in August of last year.

10/31/08 - Formal Sentencing

Today Robert DiLullo was officially sentenced to one year less 1 day in jail.

DiLullo will have to serve 77 of the 364 days before he is eligible for parole.

DiLullo will not be allowed to teach again or serve in public office.

Lee Alexander Holmes Junior, an eighth-grade teacher at Lockerman Middle School in Denton, Maryland has been arrested on child sex abuse and child pornography charges.

Holmes allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old female student.

Holmes came to the attention of authorities when the mother witnessed the girl who had left without permission being dropped off at home.

The girl’s mother chased the vehicle at high speed until it crashed. The mother allegedly recognized Holmes as the driver of the crashed vehicle.

Holmes’ injuries were treated at a Baltimore hospital.

He was arrested on Wednesday.

10/15/08 - Guilty Plea

Lee Holmes has pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree sexual offense.

Under the terms of the plea agreement between prosecutors and Holmes, he will be sentenced to no more than 9 years in prison.

Holmes who originally faced six charges will be sentenced on October 30th.

10/31/08 - Sentencing

On Thursday Lee Holmes Jr. was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

Holmes will be required to register as a sex offender.
