06/30/08 - Initial BBT Report

Christopher M. French, 28, a special education teacher’s aide at the McCall Middle School in Winchester, Massachusetts has been arrested on a charge of child enticement.

It is alleged that French used the Internet to entice a 13-year-old female student to have sex with him

Reportedly police searched French’s home and obtained evidence which led to his arrest on allegations that he used online conversations in the enticement of the student. Reportedly a second search warrant was served yesterday and a third search warrant was served today.

At his arraignment French pleaded not guilty to one count of child enticement and was released on $5,000 cash bail.

His next court appearance is set for August 8th.

Reportedly French is the son of McCall Middle School Principal Evander French Jr.

Charles Elsbury Whedbee, 41, a social studies teacher at Pasquotank County High School in Elizabeth City, North Carolina has reportedly been arrested and charged with three counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

Whedbee allegedly was involved in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student.

Following his arrest, Whedbee was reportedly being held in the Albemarle District Jail with bond set at $30,000.

06/30/08 - Case Update

A Pasquotank County grand jury returned bills of indictment against Charles Whedbee increasing the severity of the the felony counts of indecent liberties.

When Whedbee was originally arrested he was charged with three class I felonies. Those charges have now been elevated to class F felonies which entail a more severe punishment range if convicted.

Following the grans jury indictment Whedbee was arrested again on the new charges and held in the Albemarle District Jail with bond set at $32,500.

Marcelito Creer, an elementary teacher for the Bureau of Indian Affairs working at Choosgai School in Tohatchi, New Mexico has been arrested on sex abuse charges after an 8-year-old boy was allegedly improperly touched at a Tohatchi community function.

Creer, who along with the alleged victim and his family migrated to New Mexico from the Philippines has been charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor, criminal sexual contact of a minor and intimidation of a witness and is being held on $50,000 cash bond.

The alleged victim told his family of the touching but the family was reluctant to contact authorities until local residents encouraged them to do after after a community meeting at which the allegations were revealed.

The alleged crimes are said to have occurred during an overnight party for children within the Tohatchi community on May 25.

In researching Marcelito Creer, we have discovered that the Minutes of the November/December 2004 of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing suspended the teaching credentials of Marcelito Creer for a period of 180 days for misconduct under Education Code section 44421.

A review of California Education Code section 44421 reveals the following:

The Commission for Teacher Preparation and Licensing shall privately admonish, publicly reprove, revoke or suspend for immoral or unprofessional conduct, or for persistent defiance of, and refusal to obey, the laws regulating the duties of persons serving in the public school system, or for any cause which would have warranted the denial of an application for a credential or the renewal thereof, or for evident unfitness for service.

Danny Ray Reynolds Jr., 33, Assistant Principal at Vidor High School in Vidor, Texas has been indicted by an Orange County grand jury on two counts of sexual assault and two counts of an improper relationship between educator and student.

The grand jury indictment alleges that Reynolds had a sexual relationship with an underage student that lasted from November of 2005 to January of 2008.

Reportedly Reynolds turned himself in and was thereafter released on $10,000 bond.

If convicted Reynolds would face a punishment range from two years probation to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Gregory Strittmatter, 49, a former softball coach at Indiana Area Senior High School in Indiana, Pennsylvania has been arrested on allegations of sending sexually suggestive messages via a cell phone to a 15-year-old student and ex-player.

It is alleged that Strittmatter began text-messaging the the girl in May and that by month’s end the messages became more personal and eventually turned sexual.

Allegedly Strittmatter sent text messages to the girl including:

“I’m lying here in bed can’t stop thinking of you. I need you.”

“I wish i could hold you now. I have to refrain from the ultimate passion with you but i don’t think i can.”

“I miss you. I need you. I wish you were here.”

The girl’s father became aware of the messages while at at a softball game after his daughter handed her cell phone to him. The father then gave the phone to his son who showed one of the messages to the girl’s father.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl’s father spoke to Strittmatter’s wife about the message, and she begged him not to ruin her family. Reportedly the girl’s father also spoke to Strittmatter who allegedly told him that he has a problem and needs help.

Strittmatter is charged with having unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and harassment and stalking and following arraignment was released on $5,000 bond.

Strittmatter resigned his position with the school via an e-mail on June 13th.

His next court date is set for August 12th.
