Matthew John Glasser, 31, of Hartford, Connecticut a former band director at Northwest Catholic High School, in West Hartford has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and tampering with a witness.

Glasser received a seven-year suspended sentence and five years of probation.

Reportedly Glasser will be required to register as a sex offender.

Glasser and the 16-year-old girl allegedly had sex on about eight occasions in April and May of 2005. Glasser resigned from the school in May 2005 and was arrested in June of that year and charged with eight counts of second-degree sexual assault.

Reportedly, school officials learned of the affair in early May 2005 after the girl feared that she might be pregnant, by Glasser whom she had known for years. Glasser reportedly had been her teacher in elementary school.

The prosecutor said that Glasser urged the student to sneak out at night so he could have sex with her.

2/20/08 - Alleged Probation Violation

Matthew Glasser has been charged with violating his probation on allegations that he failed to find a place to live that is an adequate distance from schools and parks and that he maintained his Internet and e-mail accounts athough the court prohibited him from having online access.

Glasser freed on $75,000 bond has been ordered to appear in court on March 7th for a hearing on the probation violation charge.

Matthew Glasser admitted for the first time Tuesday that he had sex with a 16-year-old student when he was a teacher.

Phillip Lee Walker, 59, a former music teacher at Westpark Elementary School in Fort Worth, Texas has pleaded guilty to indecency-fondling.

Walker who touched an elementary school student’s breast has been sentenced to seven year deferred adjudication probation.

If Walker abides by his terms of probation, his conviction will be dismissed and he will have no criminal record.

Walker came to the attention of authorities when an assistant principal at the school overheard a group of girls talking to Walker. One girl asked “Why did you do it?” to which Walker allegedly replied, “It was a moment of weakness, I’m sorry”.

Under the terms of the plea deal Walker must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, can never teach children again and cannot have unsupervised contact with any child under 17.

Shadrick Munro Woods, 39, vice principal at Gaywood Elementary School in Seabrook, Maryland has been indicted on two counts of child sexual abuse and two counts of third-degree sexual assault for allegedly molesting a 6-year-old male student while at school.

Woods is accused of sexually abusing the boy on school grounds from December 2007 until March 2008.

Woods came to the attention of police when the 6-year-old boy brought a Gameboy home. When his mother asked where he got the video game he told her that the vice principal gave it to him for good behavior. The boy allegedly told his mother than when he went to the restroom that Woods would follow him and tuck his shirt in although the boy did not understand why his shirt had to be tucked into his underwear. Under questioning from his mother the boy indicated that Woods had touched him improperly. It is believed the alleged sexual abuse has been going on for months.

Woods was released on $50,000 bail Wednesday afternoon after being indicted.
