Scott M. Bender, a bus driver for the Peninsula School District, in Gig Harbor, Washington has been arrested after allegedly fondling and molesting a four-year-old girl on his bus.

Bender was arrested Monday on two counts of first-degree child molestation and was being held in the Pierce County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The alleged sexual abuse is said to have occurred on October 9th and came to the attention of authorities when the child told her mother of being touch improperly and the girl’s mother contacted a teacher at the school.

Police say that although Bender initially denied all allegations he eventually admitted to exposing himself to the child.

Lois Cheryl Enden, a 55-year-old teacher’s aide at PS 196 in Forest Hills, NY has been arrested on five counts of second-degree rape and two counts of second-degree sodomy for the alleged sexual abuse of a then 11-year-old boy back in 1999 and 2000.

Enden’s arrest is the result of a chance encounter last month between Enden who was walking her dog and the now 18-year-old. The boy shared his story with a friend who convinced him to go to the police.

The boy cooperating with police was fitted with a wire and allegedly recorded Enden apologizing for her actions telling the teen that she regretted it all these years and that she was abused herself by her sixth-grade teacher, and perhaps was mirroring that experience.

Enden who has been a teacher’s aide at PS 196 in Forest Hills since 1990, was released on $100,000 bail.

7/23/07 – Guilty Plea

Lois Cheryl Enden has pleaded guilty to second-degree rape of a then 11 year old boy over seven years ago.

Enden was originally charged with five counts of second-degree rape and two counts of second-degree sodomy.

The judge indicated that he would sentence Enden to 6 months in jail and five years of probation.

10/29/07 – Sentencing

Enden who was originally charged with five counts of second-degree rape and two counts of second-degree sodomy and who pleaded guilty in July to a second-degree rape count was today sentenced to six months in jail and ten years of probation.

Enden must also register as a sex offender.

TOTAL ‘RAPE’ RECALL

Robert Ingenito, 27, an English teacher at Cliffside Park High School, in Cliffside Park, New Jersey has been arrested and charged on allegations of having a seven-month-long sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student.

Ingenito came to the attention of police on Friday when a teacher told school administrators of the alleged relationship. School official then called police, who began an investigation.

Later on Friday detectives interviewed the alleged victim and Ingenito voluntarily went to the Prosecutor’s Office where he was ultimately arrested and subsequently charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Reportedly Ingenito has taught at the school since the 2003-2004 school year and met the alleged victim when she was a sophomore.

It is alleged that their relationship which began as simply a friend one eventually turned to a sexual nature.

Following his arrest, Ingenito was held in the Bergen County Jail on $200,000 bail. His arraignment is reportedly set for Thursday.

Update 11/03/07:

Robert Ingenito entered a not guilty plea at arraignment on Thursday.

Ingenito is free on $200,000 bond and has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the case.
